Welcome! I'm Delanie Weyer, the Chemical Health Counselor primarily serving Tech High School & South Junior High School in the St. Cloud School District.

 

My background: I grew up in a small town in North Central MN. How small you ask? My graduating class was a total of 39 students! I then went on to obtain my bachelors degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling at St. Cloud State. During college I worked at a fishing company and called Alaska my home for 3 summers. I also studied abroad and lived in Australia for about 8 months. Travel is my absolute favorite. After interning and gaining experience in my field I obtained my license as a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC). I have worked with adolescents in a residential treatment setting and adults in an outpatient treatment setting. I also have worked in other various settings. My passion is to help others discover a quality life outside of drugs and alcohol.

My role in the district: My primary focus is providing support for students that may struggle with substance use, however I also provide support in many other important areas. Some of these areas may include goal setting, decision making, peer pressure, family issues, coping with mental health symptoms, and much more. I believe middle school and high school are very crucial times for youth, where they are developing into beautiful individuals that will be leading our world someday. Lets work together to support our youth and provide a safe place for them to grow, succeed, and become tomorrow's leaders.
